1. BRISKET & CHICKEN FAJITA NACHOS
Sure, nachos are a mainstay, but these babies aren’t your typical nachos. Head to one of my favorite Six Flags eateries, JBs where they start with crunchy tortilla chips loaded with creamy white queso and a sizeable portion of either smoked brisket or chicken fajitas. They’re then loaded (as requested) with diced tomatoes and jalapenos for the ultimate bite that hits those other nachos right out of the nearby ballpark.
2. THE PIT SANDWICH
Craving a taste of Texas but can’t decide if you want brisket, pulled pork or sausage? Get ‘em all at JBs—sandwiched between two slices of Texas Toast served with waffle fries, a dill pickle and topped with a Texas flag.
3. TURKEY BACON CLUB
For those looking for a little lighter fare will be thrilled by the Turkey Bacon Club. Six Flags’ Go Fresh Cafe takes its own spin on this classic stacking turkey, several slices of bacon, lettuce, tomatoes and a drizzle of ranch dressing—all between a crispy pita shell. Pop in a few grapes and you’ve got a fresh meal that might need an extra set of hands to finish (it’s really big!).
4. GRILLED CHICKEN & APPLE SALAD
Sometimes there’s nothing better than a good salad and you’ll be thinking Six Flags the next time you crave one. Their grilled chicken & apple salad does it right starting with a bed of mixed greens and all the healthy fixin’s like slivered almonds, cranberries, goat cheese and of course, diced green apples and big slices of grilled chicken.
5. PINK THING DIPPIN’ DOTS
Back in the day, going to Six Flags meant you’d have to stop for a “Pink Thing.” The frozen creamy treat would melt down your hand, wrist and face as you raced to get to see what character was on your colored, souvenir stick. Fast-forward to today, and you’ll still find Pink Things, but now in Dippin’ Dots form. Take a bite and you’ll get that cherry, strawberry, raspberry dreamy taste without the mess. Plus, it stays a lot colder, longer while you enjoy it in the hot, Texas sun.
6. CHURRO SUNDAE
Head to Casa de las Banderas to relax at the bar or a nearby bench for this Texas twisted treat in the middle of “Mexico.” The Churro Sundae is exactly what you’d want and more with lots of creamy vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup and two big warm cinnamon churros. You’ll definitely need an amigo/amiga to finish this one!
7. FUNNEL QUAKE
The Funnel Quake is what funnel cake fantasies are made of. Only available until Labor Day, (the end of the Six Flags summer season) the entire family can get elbows deep in a three-layered funnel cake topped with strawberries, chocolate, whipped cream and four cherries. For the non-traditionalists, you’ll find Chicken n’ Waffles funnel cake, M&M funnel cake and yep, even a Unicorn funnel cake.
It’s not just the menu that’s changing at Six Flags Over Texas either! The Season Dining Plan Passes were recently introduced, and plans for mobile orders are in the works for this season—helping you skip the lines and get to the food and the fun much faster!
