The official hotel of the Dallas Cowboys, this hotel features 300 elegantly appointed guest rooms. The elevated pool deck is prime for cocktail receptions or special occasion celebrations and makes the perfect viewing perch for events on the outdoor field. Step outside and enter The Star, the new social hub of Frisco and Home of the Dallas Cowboys, where you’ll experience extraordinary entertainment in the events plaza or shop at some of North Dallas’ poshest boutiques. Experience unique interior décor, the largest rooftop pool deck in all of North Texas, proximity to Ford Center and The Star, HQ for Dallas Cowboys and more. It’s a vibe you won’t want to miss – no matter which team you root for.
Best time to take a picture: There are perfect photo opportunities everywhere, but ideally you’ll want to capture this at sunset or nighttime to see all the lights (because us Texans like everything “big and bright.”)
Tip: Search #OmniFrisco to see what others are posting and be sure to tag it when you post yours!
Located in the heart of downtown next to the iconic Dallas landmark Reunion Tower, Hyatt Regency Dallas offers 1,120 modern guest rooms minutes away from the always buzzing Dallas Convention Center, American Airlines Center and the Historic West End District and Dealey Plaza. Along with Reunion Tower, Hyatt Regency Dallas has formed an iconic part of the Dallas skyline for 40 years, and is something everyone must see (trust me, even Houstonians love to see the Dallas skyline!). Its shimmering glass exterior remains a reflection of the city.
Best time to take a picture: The evening! You’ll get great photos of sun setting in the atrium and a fabulous view of Reunion Tower’s LED light show. You can also get an amazing nighttime view of Dallas from the GeO-Deck at this time.
Tip: The most Insta-worthy view in town is 470 feet in the air! Hyatt guests receive 20% off admission to the Reunion Tower GeO-Deck, where they can snap a breathtaking 360-degree view of the city.
3. THE JOULE
A high-end, revitalized 1920s neo-Gothic landmark hotel in downtown, The Joule has become a Dallas tradition for celebrities and visitors from all over. I’ve heard a few of the NBA teams stay here while in town, and can personally vouch for their 8,000-square-foot spa. With luxurious and comfy rooms (160 total) and four sprawling penthouses, photos inside the rooms make some of the best Instagram pictures out there (a classic blogger picture within an inordinate amount of room service laid out on the bed comes to mind). More than that, The Joule features one of the best pools in the U.S., which is beyond Instagram-worthy. The infinity pool hangs off the hotel, overlooking the famous “Eye” sculpture (which is kind of creepy, but 30-feet-tall, so it makes for a great photo), and provides a great view of the Dallas skyline, voted as best in the nation by USA Today.
Best time to take a picture: It really doesn’t matter, but if you’re trying to capture a solo picture by the pool like this, go early before everyone has a chance to photobomb you.
Number fore on our list (pun intended – feel free to use that in your Instagram caption!) is the Four Seasons Resort and Club at Las Colinas, in Irving. Adjacent to DFW International Airport, here you’ll find an ideal mix of Fort Worth’s steel-toed swagger and Dallas’ cosmopolitan edge. Choose from a round of golf, a private poolside daybed, the expansive sports and recreation club or pampering you deserve at the Well & Being Spa. At night, you’re not far from all the action of Dallas-Fort Worth, or you can stay put and grab a stiff drink from master mezcalier and certified tequila specialist, Alfredo Sanchez. Here you’re sure to make memories with new and old friends alike.
Best time to take a picture: For a beautiful shot on the golf course, daytime/early morning is best.
Tip: Whether you’re a hardcore golfer or not (casual golfers are invited, per the hotel’s website), be sure to snap a picture at the signature, 18-hole, par-70 course, which is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary filled with native plants and wildlife. If you’re looking to up your golf game, take a lesson with this guy – it’s on my bucket list!
This charming and quintessentially Texan hotel is located in Uptown Dallas, one of the most popular neighborhoods in Dallas-Fort Worth. Hotel Crescent Court is one of the most unique and architecturally astounding hotels in the area! Here you’ll see old school Dallas sophistication, heritage and charm throughout every corner of the hotel, including the serene pool minutes away from the trolley. The hotel is fresh off a $33 million renovation, showcasing Texas luxury living at its finest—something you have to see for yourself.
Best time to take a picture: Mimic some top fashion bloggers and brides and grooms with photos in the courtyard at dusk, or snap a picture of the lobby in all its architecture glory any time of day.
Tip: If you’re into architecture, design and Texas history, add this hotel to your bucket list. Originally built in 1986, ten different types of marble were imported from Italy and Spain, alongside slate from Wales for roofing, where the hotel reportedly broke a world record with the amount of limestone used in construction.
The Gaylord Texan is a gorgeous luxury resort near Historic Downtown Grapevine, offering amazing views of Lake Grapevine, especially from the patio deck at their nightclub, the Glass Cactus. If you like unique hotel features, you’ll absolutely love their lobby—it’s an indoor atrium and river walk that’s reminiscent of the classic San Antonio hotspot. The view of Lake Grapevine is gorgeous anytime of year and the atrium is totally Insta-worthy!
Best time to take a picture: If you’re snapping a photo of the atrium, the daytime is best to help capture all the natural light, but if you’re taking a picture of the atrium’s awesome glass ceiling, take it at night so the lights really pop and stand out. You’ll be an Instagram-pro in no time with all the spots here.
Tip: Visit the Gaylord during holiday season, because no detail is spared for Lone Star Christmas! You can have fun ice skating, snow tubing, a friendly visit with Santa and the annual ICE! exhibit featuring hand-carved ice sculptures and an ice slide. This winter wonderland creates some of the best holiday memories in all of Texas (and the best Instagram photos).
