To help keep you cool this Texas summer, we’ve rounded up some of the tastiest ice creams in DFW; however, your summer wouldn’t be complete without one of the most classic frozen treats ever made: popsicles. Whether you’re craving something creamy, fruity or even boozy—these DFW pop shops have it all!
1. ALCHEMY POPS – FORT WORTH
Committed to serving artisan frozen pops made from local ingredients, Alchemy Pops offers a flavor selection that changes with each season. Visit their new location on South Main Street in Fort Worth’s Near Southside area to try flavors like Horchata or Lemon Blueberry Buttermilk. For those who are needing a caffeine kick, go with their Cold Brew Coffee & Cream!
2. BERRYNAKED – DALLAS
Founded in 2014, Berrynaked is a Dallas frozen treat haven that offers organic popsicles with exciting flavors like Chai Latte, Hydrate (coconut water-kiwi) and Hazelnut Butter-Banana, as well as frozen fruit purees and PopTails (popsicles dipped in champagne)! With calorie counts from 60 to 200 per pop, Berrynaked is an indulgence that won’t leave you with regret.
This vibrant, frozen treat shop in downtown Grapevine has the whole hip-hop theme down! From the graffiti on the wall to the rapper-inspired popsicle names like Busta Lime and A Tribe Called Zest, Hip Pop offers a variety of exotic flavors like Pineapple-Cilantro and Mango-Habanero. Want something creamy? Their nostalgic Captain Crunch popsicle is a must-try! And if you prefer something to be eaten with a spoon, try Hip Pop‘s Mojito shaved ice and Mango-Tamarind slushes.
4. STEEL CITY POPS – DALLAS, FORT WORTH, SOUTHLAKE
Hailing all the way from Alabama, this prominent pop shop has become a summer staple in DFW. With locations in Dallas, Southlake and Fort Worth, Steel City Pops is easy to get a hold of here in the Metroplex. In my opinion, the best part of the experience is when you get to dip your pop of choice in chocolate, drizzle it with caramel and/or more chocolate sauce, dredge it on crunchy toppings, and dust it with extra spices!
Finally, a popsicle for grownups! Served in various restaurants and wineries throughout DFW like The Rustic (Dallas) and Wine Fusion Winery (Grapevine), SocialIce embodies the sophistication of a cocktail with the laid-back vibe of a good ol’ popsicle. The best part? SociaIce uses Texas wine and all-natural ingredients! If Classic Margarita or Sangria Grape popsicles don’t scream summer to you, I don’t know what does!
