In my opinion, the key to a great family brunch is finding somewhere that has activities for kiddos and places for them to play. Luckily, there are several restaurants in the DFW area that have figured this out!
This classic DFW favorite has locations around town, but I love the one at NorthPark Center in Dallas. It’s right next to an enclosed courtyard where your kiddos can run freely and play while you watch from the patio. Plus, the food is always delicious! Even better, it opens long before the mall opens so there’s rarely a large crowd.
This Plano hotspot is a newer development that has it all figured out for a fun and easy brunch experience! The Boardwalk at Granite Park is home to a row of different restaurants like The Biscuit Bar, all along a boardwalk overlooking a waterscape. I love eating here because the restaurants have great, large patios, and there are mutliple areas for kids to run around and play. Plus, there are tons of places to sit along the boardwalk after brunch, lots of wall murals and an overall wonderful vibe to start your family day off right.
Dallas‘ Trinity Groves area also has a lot of great restaurants to choose from, but Beto and Son is my favorite! This Mexican restaurant always has unique menu items that never disappoint. You can sit inside, on the patio, or on the open porch that overlooks the Dallas city skyline and Margaret Hunt Hill bridge. After my family and I eat here, we love to take a stroll on the Ronald Kirk Pedstrian Bridge. It’s a great way to get an up-close view of the Margaret Hunt hill bridge, and there are play structures and fun things for kids see and do all along the your walk.
4. THE YARD
If you’re looking for a chill outdoor vibe, The Yard in Downtown Mckinney is your spot. Not only is this restaurant very kid-friendly, it’s also right in the heart of downtown McKinney — one of the cutest downtown areas I’ve seen! The Yard has games to play, a great kids menu and an open patio with lots of natural shade. Perfect for brunch, even during Texas summers!
Home to the Dallas Cowboys headquarters, The Star District is a great area for a fun family brunch. You’ll find a lot of different restuarant options surrounding the Cowboys practice facility, including my favorite, City Works. Their Frisco location at the Star has delicious American food and a can’t-go-wrong kids menu. Plus, it’s right across from a big field where kids can run around, toss footballs and have some good ol’ Texas family fun after you eat!
