Of course, we are big fans of visiting NorthPark for the many fabulous shops that indulge our “retail therapy.” On our most recent visit, we shopped at Zara to jazz up our everyday wear, Vineyard Vines for swimwear, Nordstrom for cosmetics and fragrances, Tory Sport for athletic wear, Apple for a waterproof phone case and Tiffany & Co. for a wedding gift! It was a big shopping trip to get ready for summer—yet easy and enjoyable! In just a few hours, we took care of our entire summer shopping list. There aren’t many malls where you can shop while appreciating a “world-class cultural experience.” NorthPark Center offers visitors just that with their impressive collection of art displays and exhibitions. The diverse art wows us every time, and makes for a perfect photo op during a shopping break. You’ll find the permanent collection scattered throughout the mall, featuring artwork by Andy Warhol, Frank Stella, Joel Shapiro, Jim Dine and many more. There is also a 48-foot-tall, 12-ton sculpture by Mark di Suvero in the NorthCourt, which can be seen from both levels of the center. During our past shopping visits we’ve seen everything from a massive KAWS sculpture to a hand-painted car, and vintage fashion! Download the map of the art collection and use it as your guide to take a walking tour throughout the mall.
Before you visit, be sure to look at the NorthPark calendar of events where you can find exciting activities and things to do daily. There is quite a variety too, such as special previews of fashion brands, seasonal art exhibits, children’s activities like story time, fitness classes and community festivals. Annually, a few of the most anticipated events include holiday activities like Gingertown Dallas (a live build competition) and fashion shows!
