Creating this list has brought back all of the best experiences I (Emily) had while studying abroad in Paris. We’re incredibly fortunate to have so many fantastic French bistro options in DFW and we hope you love them as much as we do!
Y’all, Rise is at the top of my list because it literally feels like you’ve left DFW and stepped into a whimsical neighborhood bistro in Paris. The decor is next level and the food is wildly delicious. We recommend starting with a champagne flight, then having the Marshmallow Soup for an appetizer, followed by both savory and sweet soufflés. Looking to host a baby shower or bridal shower? This is the place for you! I even celebrated at Rise (in Dallas) after I found my wedding dress! Fun fact: Rise began in Dallas, but has now grown to include locations in Fort Worth and Houston!
Recently, we had a fantastic opportunity come our way on an blogger day trip to Mockingbird Station. We learned all about Edith’s story, along with getting the behind the scenes in their kitchen and seeing how they make their deliciously famous croissants and pastries. We loved our Dallas brunch at Edith’s French Cafe, and we’re looking forward to driving up to Plano to experience their newest offering, Edith’s French Bistro. At Edith’s bistro, they recently added a High Tea! Yes, please! Who else is with us?!
Talk about a hidden neighborhood gem! RM 12:20 Bistro is located in Dallas and this French bistro is quickly becoming one of our favorite places for a weeknight date night or a girls night out. Executive chef, Erin Willis, realized a great need for Lake Highlands to have a special place where people could gather to sip seasonal cocktails and wine all while enjoying French-inspired dishes. This makes for an environment where one can get lost in conversation and have a relaxing, enjoyable time with friends and/or family. Tip: leave the kids at home unless they’re incredibly well mannered. See our experience and what we ordered at RM 12:20 here.
On the weekends, you can sometimes find us driving up to Plano to enjoy all of Legacy West‘s amazing shops and delicious restaurants! A favorite French-inspired restaurant is Toulouse where you’ll be excited to find delectable bistro menu items while taking in the scene around you on a quaint covered patio. Toulouse also has a location in Dallas, but there’s nothing like strolling through Legacy West to shop and watch the fountains dance after a lovely French meal!
5. LE BILBOQUET
Le Bilboquet has been one of my favorite restaurants in Dallas for a long time now. It’s the perfect place to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or to have a festive brunch! My favorite thing to order on the menu is a glass of crisp, refreshing rose and the Cajun Chicken. Seriously, this is one of the best dishes in Dallas! I crave it all the time, and now as I write this, I’m contemplating on making lunch reservations for this weekend. Cajun chicken, here I come!
We love visiting historic downtown Grapevine and Main Street Bistro & Bakery / Chez Fabien is always a spot we stop off at. It’s the perfect place to enjoy pastries and cheese plates if you want to get a quick snack before more shopping and wine tasting. If you’re ready for lunch or dinner, hop next door to the main cafe for a full-on French bistro dining experience.
Located in Dallas‘ Harwood District, Mercat Bistro is minutes away from downtown and uptown. We love going here for lunch or brunch! Depending on the weather (and your mood) you can choose to sit outside or inside in a more intimate setting that’s filled with beautiful antiquities that are from all over the world. Our favorite items on the menu are Ricotta & Honey toast, Croque Madame, Quiche Lorraine, Moules Frites and the Wild Mushroom Ravioli. Feeling festive? Order a Peche Mignon, their signature cocktail that’s also super Instagram worthy!
Boulevardier is another wonderful French restaurant located in Dallas‘ Bishop Arts District. The wine list is fantastic and we love ordering oysters and mussels here. So good! They also put on a delicious brunch that we highly recommend making reservations for. Afterwards, you can leisurely explore Bishop Arts and walk off all those yummy, worth it calories!
When you have something big to celebrate head to Bullion! It’s one of the highest acclaimed restaurants in Dallas and an experience more than worth having. We celebrated my 31st birthday here and had the BEST time! Tip: Arrive a bit before your reservation and relax with a drink in their gorgeous lounge. We love the mid-century decor that adorns this elevated contemporary French brasserie. Do it right and spend a few hours here as the French do!
11. PARIS 7TH
Owned by the same people of Saint-Emilion, Paris 7th in Fort Worth offers more of a fine dining experience, inspired by the chic restaurants of Paris! Savor traditional menu items such as French onion soup, escargot, foie gras, caviar, cheese, fish, duck and more. Pair with your favorite champagne and start planning your next trip to France. Oui, oui!
12. THE FRENCH ROOM
This gem is one of the most famous fine dining restaurants in Dallas, and it recently went through a massive, gorgeous renovation. The French Room & bar is located in The Adolphus hotel, and it’s on our bucket list of restaurants to dine at in Dallas. Delight your palate with modern interpretations of French classics and take in the gorgeous atmosphere around you. The Adolphus is a mecca for food enthusiasts as it also home to Otto’s, City Hall Bistro and Tea Service. Staycation, anyone?
