I’m not a huge gamer, but I can definiately appreciate the concept of Nerdvana Food + Spirits. Here, you can enjoy delicious food and beverages, all while playing your favorite games. Nerdvana has special booths especially designed for playing videogames while you eat, but you can also request to be seated in game-free seating. If you are looking for a calmer atmosphere, I recommend visiting their café next door. Nerdvana Coffee + Shop offers small bites, drinks, and fun board games! It instantly makes you feel right at home, so plan to stay a while and play a game or two.
This local gem is my favorite diner in town. It’s casual, fun and most importantly, family friendly! It’s also located inside the cutest converted wood-frame home, instantly increasing its charm. I love the home-style cooking and variety because it means everyone can order what they want. On warm weather days, I highly suggest sitting on the outside patio and enjoying the sounds of Main Street.
In the middle of Frisco Square stands the beautiful Pizzeria Testa. Constructed of reclaimed brick and accompanied by a hand painted marquee sign, you can instantly tell that Pizzeria Testa takes pride in every aspect of their business. In fact, several of the ingredients used to create their award-winning Neapolitan Pizza come directly from Italy! I love that they have an open Italian Kitchen, meaning that guest can see first-hand how everything is made. This was especially entertaining for my curious toddler. I was able to show him their beautiful oven while waiting for our food. There’s no denying that the pizza served at Pizzeria Testa is some of the best in Frisco!
On weekend mornings, you’ll often find me enjoying a local farmer’s market. Lucky for me, Frisco offers one of best. To me, buying from local and small businesses just can’t be beat. The vendors at Frisco Fresh Market at not only great at what they do but are also incredibly friendly! On select days, the market will even offer free yoga and a petting zoo for kids to enjoy. There’s always something new to see, which keeps every visit to the Market exciting and fun.
Across from Frisco Square, you’ll find The National Soccer Hall of Fame — one of the only museums in the nation to use facial recognition! The technology allows visitors to enjoy a highly customized experience. During my visit, I was surprised to see the exhibits personally addressing me by name. It was really cool learning about the evolution of soccer, but the virtual reality games were my personal favorite. There was one game where I was able to act as a goalie, and afterward my scores were emailed to me. They also have a photo booth section and an area where you can design your own team jersey and scarf. It’s an experience like no other!
This is my go-to park for many reasons. One, it has a huge play area for children. It’s literally one of the biggest I’ve ever seen, and kids love it! There’s also a splash pad you can enjoy during the warmer months. Those things alone can make an entire day of fun, but I also like visiting because of the nature trails and pond. People can often be seen fishing and feeding the ducks. On warm days, I recommend bringing a bite to eat, because there’s plenty of shaded picnic tables and even a few barbecue grills. This park is a short drive from Main Street, but I just couldn’t leave it off this list because it’s so much fun!
If you are looking to enjoy some art, you need to visit Frisco Fine Art. They have an amazing selection of artist featured from all over the world. I always find strolling through the gallery very relaxing. After you’re done enjoying all the gorgeous art, head to their cute little gift shop and pick up some art of your own. I also recommend checking out their website before you go to see if they have any upcoming events, like painting or date night.
When you walk into this shop, you instantly feel light and bright. Lillian Welch sells so many beautiful items, but their linen products are my favorite! I also love their selection of dreamy clothing, perfume and jewelry. Their pieces are so simple and timeless. Fun fact: Lillian Welch is named after the owner’s maternal great-grandmother, who was known for her “natural, easy elegance”. No wonder the items sold here are so beautiful!
For the latest fashion trends, you’ll want to visit Twisted Simplicity. Their clothing items are so unique! You won’t be able to find them at the mall, which is one of the huge benefits of shopping at boutiques. I also like that they offer a large selection of accessories. Their earrings are always the cutest, and they even carry some really cute baby items for your little one.
