ACTIVITIES & EVENTS
GrapeFest puts the spotlight on wine, but offers dozens of activities that “pair well” with the festival experience! Check out the Tennis Classic on Saturday and Sunday; ice carving on Friday and Saturday; KidsWorld, featuring LEGOLAND® Discovery Center, SEA LIFE Grapevine Aquarium, interactive games and a petting zoo; carnival rides and midway games; and of course, festival foods (try the funnel cake!).
GrapeFest takes place on Main Street in historic downtown Grapevine, so beyond the festival’s activities, you can shop and dine at more than 80 locally-owned boutiques and restaurants. In addition to the activities and action along Main Street, don’t miss the signature events happening at GrapeFest like the photo-worthy GrapeStomp, the People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic (the largest consumer-judged wine competition in the nation), or the Champagne Terrace and Cork Shoot-Off on Saturday!
ALL ABOUT THE WINE
You may want to fast from wine the days leading up to GrapeFest because it is the largest wine festival in the Southwest! Did you know that Texas is the fifth largest wine-producing state in the United States? It’s true! Here, you’ll find more than 300 wineries and 4,400 acres of vineyards producing nearly three million gallons of Texas wine each year.
Thirsty? At GrapeFest, you can taste the flavors of more than 150 Texas varietals from 39 Texas wineries at the People’s Choice Wine Classic. You will also find wines from North Coast California and the Rioja Region of Spain in the Liberty Park Plaza Wine Experience.
NEW IN 2018
For the first time ever, more than 50 teams of steak aficionados will participate in the GrapeFest Steak Cook-off on Saturday and Sunday. You just show up with your recipe and passion for grilling! If you’re visiting from out of town, the steaks are provided but grilling tools are not. The cost to register is $150 per team, and proceeds benefit Grapevine Shield Foundation.
