My fave breakfasts are the ones that are healthy and tasty, so I’ve rounded up the best restaurants with delicous dishes that’ll help you stick to eating healthy, even when you’re traveling.
This spot has so many breakfast options that it’s almost overwhelming, but you can narrow it down by sticking to the acai bowls or vegan selections. I ordered an acai bowl (because #duh) and cannot get over how incredible it was. You can’t go wrong with a healthy breakfast here! Although Seven Mile also has locations in Dallas and Keller, I’d suggest hitting up the one in Denton — It’s a short 7-minute walk from the Downtown Denton square and a great way to start your day of exploring the Lil’ D.
Holy YUM! This Frisco gem is beyond adorable, and their food is so satisfying. I personally love eating here because UP really cares about where their food is sourced from, and makes sure that what they put on your plate is truly good for you. When I went, I got the burger (because it’s rare I can resist a burger…even in the morning), and I swoon over their UP cakes, too.
I’m not gunna lie — This is quite possibly my favorite restaurant in Dallas. Mudhen is located right next to the Dallas Farmer’s Market, and it is the BEST! Their menu items are on the pricier side (‘$$’ according to Google), but here you’ll find extremely health-conscious options like Whole Wheat Pancakes and lots of quinoa dishes. Trust me, the few extra bucks for a delicious, healthy breakfast is 100% worth it!
Talk about delicious! Righetous Foods isn’t self-righteous, but they do pride themselves on only using ingredients that come from reputable and organic sources. I typically dine on the chicken tacos at this Fort Worth fave, but if it’s breakfast, I’ll go wild on their smoothies! I also love their patio, which is perfect for sippin’ on a smoothie outside when the weather is nice.
5. PURE CAFE
If you’re starting your day near Southlake, I’d suggest stopping to fuel up at this locally-owned hotspot! They’ve got it all, from wraps to bowls to juice cleanses and gluten-free baked goods, but what’s raved about most are their smoothies. Although I haven’t been yet, I’m eyeing thier drool-worthy Coco-Monkey Smoothie. Peanut butter, banana, chocolate-almond milk and low-fat yogurt? Yes, please!
Located in Legacy West, this spacious healthy restaurant is a dream! I’ve always been a fan of True Food Kitchen, and when this location opened up, I knew it would be a hit. Personally, I’m a die-hard fan of the inside-out quinoa burger and the edamame dumplings, but trust me — everything on their menu is amazing. I’d definitely recommend grabbing breakfast here before going to shop at one of Plano’s newest and hippest developments, Legacy West (across from the Shops at Legacy).
