Jewelry designer and co-owner, Jessica was inspired to start Magaly Designs by her upbringing in Peru and the handmade goods she remembers at street markets. We first discovered Magaly on the “Made in Plano” page of Plano Magazine online. This page is dedicated to showcasing the best handmade items in Plano, so it’s definitely worth checking out for even more local shopping ideas!
The Dallas Farmers Market is an amazing venue for shopping and eating—all at the same time! From gourmet foods like popcorn and macaroons to home goods and decor, there are dozens of stalls to wander and shop from. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, grab a delicious banh mi at Nammi or an ice cream sandwich at Cool Haus, among other great food options.
Shop local at Vetro Glassblowing where all of the glass art is made right here in Grapevine. There are beautiful ornaments, stemless wine glasses, statues, jewelry, paperweights (shout out for a great staff gift idea!) and more. In addition to the retail store, check out Vetro’s monthly Help Create classes where you could even make your own gift alongside a trained glass artist.
We LOVE All Good Things and its adorable owner, Kristin Miller, who opened the shop just a few months ago in Bishop Arts. Here, you’ll find a selection of beautiful cards plus tons of little trinkets like desk tschoskys and jewelry. For an even more memorable shopping experience, check their website for pop-up parties and workshops.

With over 50 years in business and two locations in Arlington, Gene Allen’s Gift Shop knows how to do local gifts right. This family-owned business has been voted by Fort Worth Texas Magazine as the “#1 place for a last-minute gift.” We love Gene Allen’s because of the extensive selection of brands they offer including Yeti, Swell, Life Is Good and Vera Bradley.
