I don’t like to choose favorites, but DIME Handmade is definitely my favorite shop in Denton. DIME (which stands for Denton Independent Maker Exchange) is packed full of curated handmade gifts by local artists. You will find a wall of stationary for just about any occasion, charming home goods, adorable gifts for kids and more.
This place will give you all of the “kid in a candy shop” vibes. The Atomic Candy Shop has every kind of candy you could imagine, plus some crazy ones that you never would have imagined in your wildest dreams. You’ll also be able to find one-of-a-kind novelty gifts and huge selections of sodas in classic glass bottles.
Gamer? Then this place is for you! Whether you’re looking for a family board game or a graphic novel, More Fun Comics and Games has got you covered. They also host fabulous community events so keep your eyes peeled for book signings, release parties, movie screenings and more.
Recycled Books, Records, & CDs is the dream stop for any reader, especially if you are budget or eco-conscious. This used book store is located in the historic Wright Opera House and spread over three floors (see if you can find the fabulous green carpet). If you love murals and colorful buildings, this is also a must-visit Denton photo-op.
Norman Roscoe is a local screen printing company, but also had a fabulous shop in the square. Their locally printed tees are primarily Denton or Texas themes, but anyone would love their vintage vibes. They also offer a wide selection of trendy stickers, candles, hats, and products from other local small businesses.
