MAIN ST. FORT WORTH ARTS FESTIVAL
Fort Worth is historically known as “Cowtown,” but don’t think it’s all about cowboys and longhorns. Those of us from Fort Worth are already in on the secret that the city has an awesome arts scene. Want to see it for yourself? Come to Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth to see art exhibits and musical performances at the Main St. Fort Worth Arts Festival. With events scheduled from morning to night, you could spend an entire day here. Between the art and the people-watching, it’s a ton of fun. Kids are welcome, but be aware that it’s not a pet-friendly event. Admission is free; however food and drink (which we recommend!) must be purchased with coupons.
GRAND PRAIRIE MAIN STREET FEST
Got an appetite for all things local? Come to Main Street Fest in Grand Prairie! It’s like one big block party with a distinctly Texan flair. Set your maps to guide you to Church Street between 2nd and 3rd Street which is where you’ll find the popular festival. Enjoy four stages featuring Texas country and Tejano musical performances by acts like Tejas Brothers and Casey Donahew Band. Hang out at the Farmer’s Market or watch the ZuZu African Acrobats. Have fun at the beer and food gardens and on carnival rides. There’s even a KIDZONE for the little ones! Admission and parking are free.
Main Street Fest in Grapevine is a celebration of all things related to craft beer, featuring more than 75 craft brews from over 35 different breweries. I love historic downtown Grapevine for its traditional storefronts and the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. You can bring the kids to enjoy family-friendly carnival rides and museums. Food vendors offer traditional festival staples like funnel cakes and snow cones, as well as more unique fare including crepes and fried mac and cheese balls. Admission is free until 5 p.m on Friday, May 18. Ticket prices after 5 p.m. are $5 per day for children ages 6-12 and seniors 65+ and $7 for adults. The $15 weekend pass is a great value! Even better, complimentary shuttles will take you from designated parking areas to the festival.
