This Arlington restaurant has Brisket Nachos, Brisket Tacos, Smoked Brisket Hash and Smoked Brisket Grilled Cheese on their menu, so I think it’s safe to say their food is Texan-friendly. If BBQ isn’t your thing, worry not. They have a tasty variety of other entrees, like Blackened Salmon and a Chicken Ciabatta sandwich!
Want a one-stop-shop for a night on the town? Vinetti’s of Addison has you covered! This classy spot—so classy that there’s a dress code—has some great Southern food and becomes a nightclub in the evenings! Basically, you can eat all the fried foods and then dance off the calories afterwards. If that’s not enough to get you excited, they also have a Happy Hour buffet on Fridays. I mean…who does that? #Winning! Note: You must be 25 or older to enter the restaurant. And no, I’m not kidding.
Not going to lie, I laughed the first time I heard the name of this Dallas restaurant. In fact, it wasn’t until I went to Chefs for Farmers last year that I tried Billy Can Can for the first time. One bite, and I knew I had to visit the restaurant. When I finally made it, the place didn’t disappoint! I tried their Scallops & Grits and it took everything in me not to lick the plate right there in the middle of the restaurant. I don’t think I’ve ever scraped my fork against a plate so diligently.
This one is for all my sweet tooth friends and those that appreciate delicious art. The Frisco bakery (cakery?) makes gorgeous cakes and cupcakes for all types of occasions! Caketales should be your go-to if you need a birthday cake for a friend or are in desperate need of a sweet cheat meal. You can order ahead or simply swing by for one of their 10 flavors available at the store every day!
I am HERE for all of these open-air restaurants opening up in the suburbs! What’s better than delicious food and live music outside of the city? This Roanake restaurant has everything from an Enchilada Stack to Cajun Fried Turkey sandwiches! Plus, they have these Bomb Buckets that thirsty friends can share for a super reasonable price. Count me in!
Not to be biased, but this is probably my favorite new restaurant in town. (Am I allowed to say that? I mean…it’s true!) Everything from the service, to the experience, and (of course) the FOOD! It’s all amazing. The fish they use is incredibly fresh, and everything you eat has a story. I love that every time I visit this Dallas fave, I learn something new about where the food was imported from or why their soy sauce is so dang good. Spoiler Alert: The soy sauce is fancy AF. That’s why.
Yes, handroll bars are popping up everywhere and once again, I’m here for it! I haven’t tried Hatsuyuki yet, but I’ve heard fantastic things about how fresh their fish is. I’m looking forward to trying them out the next time I’m in Fort Worth to see how they stack up to my fave, Nori.
Grand Prairie is stepping it up with this indoor/outdoor space! FireHouse GastroPark is set to open this Spring and will include a coffee shop, secret garden bar and an open air plaza. Oh, and this really awesome (ironically) Insta-worthy pink wall. Summers and selfies are about to be poppin in GP!
9. AKIRA BACK
Michelin Star chef, Akira Back, has 14 restaurants in some of the fanciest cities in the world. So it only makes sense that he put a self-named restaurant in The Colony too, right? Albeit a surprising location, this is one of the most anticipated restaurants coming to DFW in 2019! We can expect a Korean and Japanese inspired menu created by the Iron Chef contender.
This Dallas restaurant is all about the Mexican cuisine, but tacos and queso aren’t quite their style. Think upscale Mexican with a twist. They have everything from Grilled Octopus to the fanciest Chicken Flautas you’ve ever seen. Most importantly, they have a cocktail menu that will rock your world! As a mezcal fan, I must recommend the Oaxaca—it’s a game-changer!
I LOVE this new Plano hotspot. If good bar food and casual vibes are your things, you’ll love it too! Plus they have a patio alongside a river boardwalk and, of course, tons of beer on tap. They are a brewing company, after all! Yes, you read that right—the beer on tap is all brewed there, and it’s delicious. Bonus? They have brunch too!
