Ah, Texas weather. No matter the season, you’ll find days that are just perfect for patio weather. DFW has some of the best patios offering deals for drinking and dining that are just as nice as the atmosphere.
Located in an old house in Historic Downtown Frisco, this wine bar is a place for friends, created by friends. The owners of Eight 11 Place are four life-long pals and L.A. natives that brought the California vibe to north Texas. They’ve been named #1 live music venue in Frisco, and offer Happy Hour from 4–6 p.m. on Monday through Thursday. Sit out on their patio and celebrate making it halfway through the week with half-price bottles of wine every Wednesday.
What could make a skyline view of Dallas even better? Stirr’s happy hour, of course! Sit out on their rooftop patio and enjoy $4 drafts, $5 cocktails and food specials every weekday from 3 PM – 7 PM. Don’t forget to snap an Instaworthy photo by their iconic stairs or the “I miss you, I want you, I love you” neon sign. After sippin’ on your drink, take a moment to explore Dallas’ eclectic Deep Ellum area. You won’t be disappointed!
Legacy West has several great patio spots—I love watching the fountains while sitting at North Italia—but Haywire by far is my favorite. Not only is the food delicious, the restaurant’s atmosphere is one-of-a-kind. I mean, where else can you sit in a vintage Airstream on a rooftop patio and enjoy $5 munchies, house wine and cocktails? Swing by for happy hour weekdays from 3-6 PM, or come in on Sunday for 1/2 price bottles of wine.
Located in the buzzing West 7th District in Fort Worth, Mash’d specializes in moonshine-based drinks and features happy hour specials all day on Monday, twice a day Tuesday through Saturday, and any time after 3 p.m. on Sunday. Although there is a Mash’d in Frisco, the wide range of happy hour times at their Fort Worth location definitely takes the cake.
5. COOL BEANS
If you’re a University of North Texas grad like me (go Mean Green!), you’re probably familiar with Fry Street—and the multitude of bars along this block next to campus. Tom’s Daquari and Lucky Lou’s are local faves, but Cool Beans won my heart back in the day with killer happy hour specials and great outdoor seating. Not only do they have a large patio where you can sip on $6 cocktail pitchers with your pals, but their rooftop area offers a great view of UNT and Texas sunsets.
6. THE LOT
We love The Lot (a lot) and we bet you will too. This hip Dallas bar has a spacious patio, live music and happy hours for the day birds and night owls. Come grab a discounted drink during the week from 3–7 p.m., or any time after 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday. The Lot also features a children’s garden and play area for the kiddos. It’s no wonder that the Dallas Morning News named this hot spot one of the best patios in Dallas.
