These eight spots have gorgeous patio views and great vibes. From the live music in Denton to crazy happy hour deals in Dallas, there’s a little something for everyone on this list!
1. URBAN CRUST
Aside from having the best pepperoni pizza in the metroplex (that’s not to be argued, just trust me), Urban Crust has the cutest view of Downtown Plano that you’re gonna get. I say the cutest because Downtown Plano is just that, adorably cute. They have inside seating, but honestly, just wait for a rooftop seat because it’s SO worth it!
Screened in porches for the win! I love that this Frisco restaurant (located in an old 1917 Victorian home) has a patio that’s great all summer. They heat it in the winter and turn the fans on during summer. Plus, their menu has a little bit of everything, from a chicken fried steak sandwich to crispy braised pork belly. Thier food is made from scratch and is so delicious!
3. GLASS CACTUS
Funny story, I went here for my cousin’s 40th birthday and had the time of my life. Who knew the turn up was so real in Grapevine, TX? (Apparently everyone but me, because the place was packed!). I love that they have a huge stage with live music. When I was there, I jammed out to a cover band that sang all of my favorite songs. Glass Cactus is located on the lake, so its patio has awesome views of the water! In fact, there’s a Friday night firework show above lake Grapevine that happens throughout the summer — this is the perfect place to watch it!
4. HG SPLY CO.
If you’re looking for some healthy options with a fantastic view of Dallas, this is the place to go! It’s pretty much always hoppin’ with a live crowd (especially around happy hour). You’ll want to get a seat on their rooftop patio, preferably during sunset. Plus, their food is delicious and super accommodating to any dietary restrictions you may have!
I like the patio at this Denton hotspot because the vibes are chill and they have live music! Add in a nice view of the Downtown Square, along with murals by local artists, and you have yourself a great place to spend those summer afternoons. Of course their burgers are great, too — my favorite is the Chili Willie.
Another great restaurant on the lake is this gem on Lake Grapevine. The Rockin’ S Bar & Grill in Frisco also has great views of the lake, but I personally love the location on Lake Grapevine. You can basically pull up your boat and eat your heart out! Plus, they have lounger chairs out on the patio where you can kick up your feet up and take in the breeze.
The Union is a new Dallas hotspot where you can literally live, work and play. Of course, my favorite things about it are all food related! I love The Henry and North Italia, two freaking delicious restaurants with not only great views, but amazing happy hour specials! North Italia has one of the best happy hour deals I’ve ever seen. You get your choice of a bottle of red wine, white wine, or sangria AND a pizza, charcuterie board, or bruschetta for $25! Like, what? Someone pinch me, I think I’m dreaming.
Talk about VIEWS! This downtown spot has a lovely, large rooftop patio that overlooks Fort Worth. It’s one of my favorite places to watch the sunset and has good food to boot! If you’re ever there at night, I highly recommend you get their charcuterie board. Although they’re usually closed on Sundays, every second Sunday of the month Branch & Bird opens up for a super special brunch. Mimosas with a view? Count me in.
