As an outdoor enthusiast, I find when shopping can be done strolling through a fresh, open-air environment, it’s a whole other ball game than getting lost in a maze of a mall. And that’s exactly what you’ll find at The Shops at Legacy in Plano. Whether or not shopping is your game, plan a visit to the Legacy Town Center, where there’s something for everyone to experience including a shopper’s paradise, top-notch restaurants, high-quality entertainment and even public trails and parks.
With so many enticing and unique boutiques, be sure to leave extra room in your suitcase. They say everything’s bigger in Texas and here is no different. As soon as you pull in, you’ll feel as if you’ve entered a new, vivacious downtown district. From fashion boutiques to specialty gifts and home furnishings, there are so many shops to choose from and treat yourself to, including my favorites Lily Rain, Kendra Scott, The Impeccable Pig and Ella Bleu. The tree-lined streets offer a laid-back neighborhood vibe and the inviting sidewalk cafes and restaurants encourage you to prop up your feet and take a break in between shops.
Whatever you’re in the mood for, chances are you’ll find it among the eateries at The Shops at Legacy. Del Frisco’s Grille, Twisted Root Burger and Henry’s Tavern are all delicious eats you can count on. If you want to venture beyond Americana cuisine, try local favorites, Nicola’s Ristorante Italiano or Naan Sushi. There are several wine bars and pubs to choose from as well. For an authentic tavern setting with live music most nights, duck into Scruffy Duffies and enjoy a cold brew.
Whether you want to groove to live music or enjoy an indie movie night at Angelika Film Center, The Shops at Legacy ensure a good time with a variety of entertainment and nightlife options. From April to June and September to October, check out their Legacy Live Music Series (Thursdays – Saturdays, 5:30-8:30 p.m.) where musicians play outside and stroll throughout the property.
The best part about this vibrant shopping center is its nod to Texas history. This modern community elegantly reminds visitors of its ties to the state’s colorful heritage with historical landmark, Baccuss Park, home to Baccuss Cemetery and The Trails in Legacy, featuring 19 life-sized longhorn and three cowboy bronze sculptures – representing the Shawnee Trail of the 1800s.
Located at the intersection of Legacy Drive and The Dallas North Parkway, The Shops at Legacy are easy to get to from across the Metroplex. They’re even easier to get to when you stay on the property. Check in to the Marriott Legacy Town Center for the ultimate weekend getaway.
