You can, starting August 9, when Aikman and Rodríguez open their own restaurants, Troy’s and Pudge’s Pizza, as part of the grand opening of Texas Live!, the newest Arlington development sure to draw visitors far and wide.
Located in the Arlington Entertainment District between AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Park (and future ballpark Globe Life Field when it opens in 2020), Texas Live! is a great addition to a city already known for its sporting events, family-friendly venues and amusement parks. In fact, the fan-centered space will offer visitors 200,000 square feet of dining and entertainment options.
Like barbecue? Good, Lockhart Smokehouse will have you covered. A fan of Flavortown? You’ll be all set with Guy Fieri’s Taco Joint. Other dining and drinking options will include Live! Arena, PBR Texas, and Sports & Social Arlington, which will offer visitors their own fun sports to play via air hockey, shufflepuck, skee-ball, table tennis and virtual golf simulators.
In addition to all the restaurants, visitors will be able to see shows at the 5,000-capacity, outdoor event venue Arlington Backyard. That’s where you can catch a free concert on opening day (August 9) by Texas music royalty spanning rock to alt-country, the Toadies and Eleven Hundred Springs. Other Backyard concerts for opening weekend include indie-pop bands Bleachers and Joywave (August 10) and country music singer-songwriter Kip Moore (August 11). There will also be official Texas Rangers Away Game Watch parties and giveaways on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Live! Arena on its 100-foot LED screen. For those with kids, check out the Family Fun Day on August 12, featuring arts and crafts, face painting, live music, jugglers, puppets, sports games and more.
For now, it’s all about food, fun and sports at Texas Live! during its Grand Opening weekend and in the foreseeable future.
