That’s why I’ve already marked my calendar for Thursday, May 2 to Sunday, May 5, when North Texas will get a taste of the world famous Vietnam Veterans Memorial from Washington, D.C. The Wall That Heals is a mobile, three-quarter scale replica of the famous memorial, and its Lewisville stop is one of a small number of Texas stops on its national tour. For four days in May, visitors and veterans from across Texas and beyond will be able to experience this classic commemoration of war heroes — and begin to heal.
Watkins believes everyone from students to Boy Scouts and history lovers can all learn from The Wall That Heals.
“We hope that it can be a period of remembrance of those who fought for our freedom and for democracy in all parts of the world,” he says. “We hope people will be able to remember and honor those who gave their all.”
