1. THE WALL THAT HEALS
Lewisville | May 2-5
The Wall that Heals, a traveling exhibit that honors our veterans who served in the Vietnam War, will be in Lewisville this weekend. This wall is a replica of the memorial in Washington D.C. and contains over 58,000 names of people who sacrificed their lives for our country. In addition to the wall, the Mobile Education Center will be there, which provides a timeline and information about the memorial that is located in D.C. Opening ceremonies for The Wall that Heals exhibit start at 8:30 am on Thursday, May 2, and will be open to the public until May 5. Lewisville is The Wall that Heals only stop in Northern Texas.

2. MAYFEST
Fort Worth | May 2-5
Spanning 33 acres beside the Trinity River in Fort Worth, Mayfest has something for everyone in the family! Since 1973, this festival has raised money to help restore the river through holding fun events for the community. Mayfest features seven stages committed to providing a wide variety of entertainment like live music and performing arts, carnival rides, a petting zoo, paddle boats, an arts and crafts market and more! In addition, there will be both a student’s art contest and a food vendor contest. Pro-tip: Admission is FREE to everyone on Thursday, May 2!
COST — Tickets are $5 for children and senior citizens and $8 for adults
3. EPIC WATERS WAVE POOL GRAND OPENING
Grand Prairie | May 4
The largest indoor water park in the nation just became even more epic. This weekend, be one of the first to take a dip in Epic Waters new outdoor wave pool, then head inside and enjoy thrill rides, a lazy river and more. Once you’re done soaking in the sun and splashing in the waves, you can dry off and play some arcade games or enjoy a bite to eat from the concession stand. Totally epic!

4. JMBLYA
Dallas | May 3
From Travis Scott to Lil Wayne to Kevin Gates, JMBLYA is sure to be unforgettable this year. The epic music festival will be held at Fair Park in Dallas, where the State Fair of Texas is also held. 5. OFF THE RAILS MUSIC FEST
Frisco | May 4-5
No need to worry if rap isn’t quite your scene. Off the Rails Music Fest is bringing Luke Bryan, Jake Owen, Sam Hunt, Luke Combs, Eli Young Band and more great country artists to Frisco this weekend! Off the Rails doesn’t stop at great music — while you’re there make sure to check out featured attractions like the Jack Daniel’s Experience and giant Jenga. 6. EAST MAIN ARTS FESTIVAL
Arlington | May 4
With over 90 artist and vendor booths and 26 bands all in one day, Arlington’s East Main Arts Festival is the definition of a fun-filled day! At this fest, you’ll not only find music and art, but also locally brewed craft beer, homemade brisket tacos and fresh pastries. In between enjoying the music, cruising the vendor booths and chowing down on the yummy food, take your kiddos to check out the bounce houses or bring your furry friends along to enjoy the Pop Up Dog Park.

7. CINCO DE MAYO OC
Dallas | May 5
Finish out the weekend by celebrating Cinco de Mayo in Dallas! Spanning over 30 years, this festival is the biggest and longest running Cinco de Mayo celebration. The festivities start at 12 PM on Sunday with parade boasting elaborate floats and marching bands starting at 1 PM. Spend the rest of the day shopping and dining from a selection of 200 different businesses in the area. Make sure to stop by El Ranchito for yummy Tex Mex or switch things up at La Calle Doce, the home of Mexican Seafood.

8. FAN EXPO
Dallas | May 3-5
May the fourth be with you! Just in time for Star Wars day, Dallas will be holding their annual Fan Expo this weekend. This three day expo is the largest comic, gaming and sci-fi event in Texas and tens of thousands of fans are expected to attend this year. From a costume competition to Masters of Cosplay International workshops to a tattoo alley to autograph sessions, sci-fi lovers you won’t want to miss this!
