As one of the fastest growing urban areas in the country, it is no surprise that DFW would be home to a festival dedicated to the positivity and artistry of urban dance performance! Spend the weekend dancing in a workshop or watching a dance battle or show.

Come celebrate Latino artists, writers and creators in the comic book community by attending the 3rd annual Texas Latino Comic Con! This event is in collaboration with the Latino Cultural Center of Dallas. There will be local artists, panels and special guests!

Fort Worth | July 27
Stuff your face — or if you’re not into that, watch other people stuff their faces — with some of the best BBQ beef ribs in all of Texas! The contest will determine who out of 30 can eat the most ribs in 60 seconds. The grand prize is $500! The contest will be held at the Riscky’s BAR-B-Q in the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards (where you can see also cattle drives twice daily!).

If you like tacos and tequila (and who doesn’t?) then you’ll love Fort Worth’s inaugural Taco and Margarita Festival at The Yard! Enjoy tasting food and drink from over 15 local vendors, along with live music and a DJ. Don your best cosplay and head over to the Esports Stadium, the largest esports arena in North America, for a weekend filled with sci-fi and fantasy movies, e-games, pop culture, cosplay and more! The expo will include full-scale sci-fi movie spacecraft and vehicles, meet & greets with special guests and cosplay competitions.
COST — Adult one day passes start at $25. Children under 5 are FREE!
Plano | July 28 – August 3
The Historic Texas Pool is more than ready to celebrate Shark Week during its 58th summer season! This saltwater pool in Plano always reminds me of the ocean, with a touch of Texas. Stop by one of the best pools in North Texas for visits from pirates, mermaids, merman and other sea creatures (just hopefully no real sharks!).
