SUNDAY: FEEL-GOOD, DO-GOOD THRIFTING IN DALLAS
Make your Sunday well spent by giving back to the community. Thrifting is a feel-good way to shop because you’re recycling quality items and in Dallas, there are several thrift stores that donate a portion of the proceeds to charities. Make your first stop Out of the Closet located on Cedar Springs Road in the Oak Lawn Neighborhood. Out of the Closet benefits the Aids Healthcare Foundation, donating 96 cents for every dollar! They also offer free, confidential HIV testing as well as a pharmacy where you can get your prescriptions filled while you shop.
For your last stop, head to Genesis Benefit Thrift Store. We’ve donated dozens of bags full of clothing, jewelry and home items to Genesis since moving to Dallas. And we’ve bought almost as much! That’s because 100% of all proceeds go directly to Genesis Women’s Shelter, which aims to provide safety, shelter and support for women who have experienced domestic violence.
There you have it: a whole new wardrobe and household of thrifted treasures from across DFW!
