Needless to say, The Titan earned its rightful place on this list of can’t-miss Six Flags thrill rides (AKA six rides I was too scared to ride until recently). If you’re looking for thrills, head to Arlington’s Six Flags Over Texas, but make sure you have a light lunch—these rides aren’t for the faint of heart or the full of food.
This one’s an oldie but a goodie. The topsy-turvy coaster will have your feet dangling and your stomach churning as you journey through Gotham City. Oh, and if you happen to see some Batman flip flops in the flip-flop-and-car-keys safety net, please let me know. I’ve been looking for those for a while.
3. MR. FREEZE
After you finish with Batman, take a short jaunt across the way to check out one of his enemies: the fearsome Mr. Freeze. This rollercoaster takes you from 0 to 70 real quick—3.8 seconds, to be exact. Once complete, it’ll send you backward for a second go-round. Trust me, Mr. Freeze will send chills down your spine no matter the season.
4. THE TITAN
What more can be said of this behemoth coaster and its 225-foot drop. Titan’s turns and bends will inflict space flight-esque G-force on your body, and its sheer speed–85 mph–will make you wonder what inspired you to get on this monster coaster in the first place. Then, when it’s all over and you’ve survived the tremble-inducing Titan, you’ll be ready to do it all over again.
This classic coaster enjoyed a glow-up recently, as Six Flags’ ingenious engineers tackled the task of making the legendary thrill ride even more thrilling. The New Texas Giant—a thrilling wooden wonder—merges the best of both worlds: sleek engineering and old school thrills.
You can see the Tower of Power on the horizon as you drive into the park, but this ride’s imposing, 325-structure is only half the fun. You’ll fly up and down like the Man in Steel, and if you hear some high-pitched screams along the way, don’t worry: it’s part of the ride. (Spoiler alert: It’s not part of the ride. It’s definitely me).
