1. BAHAMA BEACH
If the bigger waterparks overwhelm you but you still want to get that rush of adrenaline from a water slide, look no further than Bahama Beach in Dallas. They have tall, fast and tubing water slides that are great for everyone! This place feels big enough for the kiddos and just right for the adults. I could do a 360 turn and see the whole park, which is great if you’re wanting to relax but also keep an eye on the kids. Speaking of relaxing, Bahama Beach has picnic tables with huge umbrellas, cabanas for you to rent, lounge chairs, pools and (of course) a lazy river!
If you thought Bahama Beach was nice, just wait until you take a day trip to Epic Waters. This place has fantastic food and drinks, heart-racing slides and even an arcade! Best of all, this Grand Prairie waterpark is indoors. That means that even when the Texas weather throws a curve ball, you can grab your swimsuits and race down a waterslide! Epic Waters houses the nation’s tallest indoor aqualoop and the longest indoor lazy river in Texas. Plus, they have a full bar offering tons of options to sip on, from beer to wine and tasty cocktails. It’s a perfect place to take a day trip with friends and family, with or without the kiddos!
This aquatic center is located in the heart of Farmer’s Branch, and it’s so much more than your average city pool! I love this facility because it is well-kept, clean and the staff are devoted to the safety of their guests. Not only do they have slides and a lazy river, but they’re also hosting Hoppy Hours this summer for adults 21+ to sip, dip and eat. If you don’t have a sitter, don’t worry — the Recreation Center will have Kids Night Out during Hoppy Hour for kiddos ages 3 to 13.
If you’re ready to have one last mini-vacation before summer ends, why not go all out with a stay at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas? Not only is the hotel gorgeous, but they also have a resort-style pool that’s exclusive for hotel guests. There’s a swim-up bar, lazy river, kids splash area and slides. Better yet, you can enjoy fireworks at the pool on August 9 and September 1.
This one is a classic. It’s like the king of waterparks! In my opinion, the perfect summer date night is enjoying a movie on the water. If you visit Hurricane Harbor on a Friday night before August 9, you do just that! Even if you visit this waterpark after the Dive-In Movie Series ends, I promise you’ll have a good time. Hurricane Harbor has always had epic water-slides and an incredibly relaxing lazy river, but this year, they added a stand where you can order Piña Coladas! Just when I thought the ultimate summertime experience couldn’t get any better, Hurricane Harbor added in this little treat for adult fun at the water park.
