Get in the holiday spirit with a walk through the Dallas Zoo’s new light show! You’ll see the zoo illuminated after hours with nearly one million lights, 3D light sculptures handmade in France, local performances and a holiday light show. Admission to Dallas Zoo Lights is included in regular zoo admission ($15 for adults and $12 for children).

After four years of calling Denton home, Oaktopia is celebrating their fifth anniversary in a new part of town. Head to Deep Ellum in Dallas to enjoy this music festival at three local venues: The Bomb Factory, Trees and Canton Hall! During the two-day event, you can watch performances from top names like Phantogram, 21 Savage and Lil Yachty. Ticket prices range from $15 to $89.50.
Denton | November 17 – 18
Oaktopia may have moved to Dallas this year, but a new tradition is taking its place in the Little D — the Backyard Block Party at Backyard on Bell. This two-day festival features live performances from bands across Texas including Denton locals like Dome Dwellers. Along with great music, there will be a vendor market, food trucks and craft beer! Two-day presale passes are $15 (including free entry to a Thursday night pre-party) and single-day tickets are $10.
Dallas | November 19 – February 19
If you’re a history buff or a fan of President John F. Kennedy, this fascinating exhibit at the Sixth Floor Museum is a must-see. Learn about how a grieving nation paid its respects to the 35th president of the United States and see historic items like the flag that flew half-staff above the Senate Wing of the U.S. Capitol Building, right next to where the tragic assassination occurred in 1963.
Fort Worth | November 19
Spend your Sunday funday with the family, enjoying holiday festivities in Sundance Square! Throughout the day, you can enjoy shopping, food and entertainment around the 65-foot tall Christmas tree, then settle in with hot chocolate and watch the parade go by at 6 p.m. Make sure you stay until the end to watch Santa go by in his special float!
