After the blonde, I decided to wet my whistle with one of Wild Acre’s seasonal brews. ‘Tis the season, after all, so I turned my attention to the Snap’d Gingerbread Strong Ale. I quickly realized that this ale is the equivalent of Christmas in a cup, assuming the “cup” is your fun uncle’s Christmas mug, and he’s drinking something a little stronger than eggnog. My uncle is decidedly not fun (my apologies if you read this, Tom) but again, that’s what makes Wild Acre so great: Their brews are so flavorful that to imbibe at this Fort Worth fave is to experience your beer more than you may be used to. For that—and for its scenery—an excursion to Wild Acre is well worth the trip.
As soon as you walk in, it hits you: the scent of serious beer being brewed in these quarters, and the sense that this brewery is seriously talented. I walked into Wild Acre earlier this month for the first time in a while. I recently got married, so my days have been filled with “Thank You” cards and quality time with my wife. But when I heard that Wild Acre won VisitDFW’s 2019 Craft Brewery Bracket Battle, I knew a visit was in order.
